Hello Patients, Friends, and Families! Happy Fall Everyone!

We hope you have adequate emotional support if you are grieving the loss of your garden from last week’s snowfall! (the picture above are some of my last Dahlias of the season). What a surprise for all of us, and while I’m always sad to see summer go, I welcome the hint of cooler temps to come and the opportunity to hunker down with a warm cup of tea.

It has been a wild ride this year for everyone. We hope you are finding the time to be well rested, that you are practicing good self care, and that you are finding a way to be calm on the inside amidst the uncertainty all around us. I do believe we are being called to listen closely to ourselves and to make many shifts in lifestyle that can support us best. As Wim Hof once said,

We have to change our beliefs about what is possible for the human body.”

Try this on: a vision of a new world of vigorous health and happiness in which we free ourselves from a health care system that keeps us sick and dependent. In order to have that we must take our health into our own hands. Now is the time for the conversation: “What are my obstacles to being strong, vibrant, and vital”? Can you see something big or small that needs to shift? What are our limiting beliefs about our health? The vital force is what naturopathic doctors treat. We don’t treat symptoms. We try to find the issue that blocks full expression of this vital force: is it trauma, chronic illness, digestive disease, inadequate nutrition? We address each of these questions, one by one.

The Wim Hof Method (https://www.wimhofmethod.com) is one example of how to increase vitality, and it includes simple breathing exercises, cold exposure, and mental focus. Easy, simple, free. Our health, as much as it is affected by the environment – political and physical- is still in our controlWhat is blocking your vital force?

  1. Choose one thing you want to change for your health this fall.
  2. Make a list of what you need to do to make that change happen.
  3. Write it down
  4. See it daily.
  5. Keep working at it.

**A reminder about prescriptions at Holistica**

Please give us one week to refill a prescription from your provider at Holistica.

It takes time on our end and then time on the pharmacy’s end to fill your prescription, plus time for it to be shipped to you. This time is increased if it is called to an out-of-state pharmacy. There is no such thing as an “emergency refill prescription.” So, please understand we cannot rush an order through the pharmacy. This requires that you contact our office no later than one week before your prescription is about to expire. We will continue to work expeditiously on our end to submit your refill request.

  1. Call your pharmacy when you need a refill.
  2. They will contact us for refill approval.
  3. Holistica providers will assess whether you need blood work or a consult before the refill. Note: Testosterone prescriptions require an appointment with your provider every 6 months.
  4. Holistica will send refill requests to the pharmacy.
  5. Your pharmacy will call you or ship your prescription to you.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
