(Part 3 of 4)

Did you know that 50% of people who are depressed actually have a low functioning thyroid?

There are so many symptoms that are actually due to a low functioning thyroid that are never considered in the normal physical exam and intake.  I love to watch the body perform with an improved thyroid. For every patient, the approach varies, as we are all different people, and each patient heals at a different pace.

Do you have a family history of thyroid disorder and have all of the symptoms of thyroid imbalance, but no one will treat you?

This is an all-too-common finding.  Your thyroid needs the equivalent of a heater underneath it.  The thyroid is the master regulator of most bodily functions, the most important being temperature. Each biochemical reaction that takes place in our bodies requires an enzyme to catalyze (or drive) the reaction, and each enzyme is heat dependent. That is, if there is a lack of internal heat and low body temperature, the biochemical pathway does not function properly, and your body struggles to perform one of the most basic functions-temperature regulation.

Let’s turn up the heat!!! I’ll tell you how in the next post…
