Dr. Kelsey Asplin, ND, CKPT
Dr. Kelsey Asplin, a proud Coloradoan and Naturopathic Doctor, champions forward-thinking leadership as essential for advancing healthcare. At the helm of the Denver Naturopathic Clinic in southeast Denver and now Holistica in Boulder, she brings a fresh perspective to wellness. Dr. Kelsey offers naturopathic primary care services and often works with high-performing professionals to optimize their health. She specializes in gut function and neuro-endocrine balancing. She believes that every patient should leave their appointment with a greater understanding of their health than when they walked in, and also feeling empowered about the steps they need to take going forward. She is a “straight shooter” who loves working with patients who are ready to take a deep dive into their health.
Dr. Kelsey’s academic journey led her from MSU Denver, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Integrative Medicine, to Bastyr University in Seattle, WA, where she obtained her doctorate in naturopathic medicine. Committed to expanding her therapeutic toolkit, she also acquired a Massage Practitioner license, became a Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner™, and earned a certification as a Biological Medicine Practitioner.
Beyond patient care, Dr. Kelsey shares her expertise through guest lectures and previously served as core faculty in the Integrative Health Care program at MSU Denver. As President of the Colorado Association of Naturopathic Doctors, she embodies effective leadership, characterized by empathy, dedication, and an innate knack for understanding people. Her interests extend from kickboxing and weight lifting to country line dancing and paddle boarding, all while dreaming up her latest hairstyle (ever-changing, naturally). Raised in Lakewood, Colorado, Dr. Kelsey’s lifelong love affair with horses remains steadfast, alongside her role as a devoted dog mom who relishes outdoor adventures with her loved ones.
In an exciting development, Dr. Kelsey has recently taken the helm at Holistica, marking her expansion into multiple clinic management—a lifelong aspiration. Driven by her passion for extending naturopathic healthcare access across Colorado, this transition was serendipitous. Dr. Mary Shackelton’s decision to slow down coincided perfectly with Dr. Kelsey’s eagerness to rev things up, resulting in a harmonious solution for both parties. Dr. Kelsey is thrilled to be a part of the team at Holistica, and to continue the legacy of excellence that the practice has long been known for.
