Are you tired of suffering through allergy season? Try LDI!

LDI stands for Low Dose Immunotherapy. It is best described as a blend of immunotherapy and homeopathy. By using dilute doses of an antigen, the goal is to create an appropriate immune response, in time training the immune system to develop tolerance. The result is the elimination of inappropriate and unnecessary immune reactivity to a trigger. An antigen is something that is either outside your body, such as food, pollen, or mold, or something inside your body, such as a bacteria, virus, hormone, yeast, or chemical. What happens when you become “allergic” to one of these allergens/antigens is that your immune system is overreacting and sending out various chemical messengers and inflammatory mediators that cause symptoms, such as sneezing, itchy, watering eyes, upset stomach, headaches, fatigue, sore throat, etc.

By giving the body a dilute dose of the antigen, we are able to “re-establish normal immunological harmony with environmental allergens, foods, chemicals or possibly germs within your body’s ecosystem and all it’s trillions of microbes so that inflammation will calm down or stop entirely.” (Vincent, 2021) In this way, it is less about avoidance or killing something, and more about altering the immune reaction so you can live in a balanced state with allergens and organisms.

The wonderful thing about LDI is that there is no risk of anaphylaxis, which is a concern with allergy shots, and the LDI dose does not cause any direct reaction to the allergens/antigens because the dose is so diluted. There is no actual measurable antigen present in the dose. It is merely changing the way you react to the allergen/antigen.

If you suffer from seasonal allergies, now is an excellent time to employ LDI as part of your strategy to address symptoms and ensure your allergies are less problematic for you in the future. LDI Environmental will replace having to take Zyrtec or Claritin every day and give you complete relief from allergies for weeks to months, not just 24 hours. Allergists use a similar strategy called SLIT (sublingual immunotherapy), in which they make a formula containing your specific allergens and administer drops every week. While the concept is similar, the downside is it costs about $60 per month and is something you have to do every week, which means $720/year. With LDI, each dose is $15. It may take a few weeks as we work to find your optimal dose, but after that, you can expect easy maintenance and the full elimination of symptoms, And we have seen this happen!

If you are tired of your allergies and want to try something new this year, contact Holistica via email or phone, or schedule a time to talk to your provider to see if LDI is a good option to address your seasonal allergies or any other chronic concerns you may have.
